We have several big dates and events coming up. Below are the details.
Remember to encourage donations for the 1st Ever Panther Prowl to be held October 5. This fun walk will be replacing the golf outing this year as a way to raise money for 5th grade camp! The entire school will be participating and every dollar raised goes to help fund camp. Parkwood is the only Kalamazoo Public School going to Sherman Lake for 5 DAYS and we want to continue the tradition of parents not having to pay out-of-pocket to send their 5th grader when it’s their time to go. Support this fun event!
Wondering what your child’s classroom looks like? Want to explore other parts of the school? Come to Parkwood Upjohn’s Open House on September 21st and have your child be your own personal guide. Join us in the gym afterwards for the first PTO meeting of the year!

Panther Prowl Information Letter

Money raised for this event will support new equipment for the gym program and raise money to send every fifth grade student to the annual week long trip to Sherman Lake Camp! It is a very important event for the school and we appreciate your support in making it a success.
The Panther Prowl Walkathon will take place on Thursday, October 5, 2017. The kids will have a blast walking a mile-long route around the neighborhood. They will earn prizes, have contests and celebrate with party activities and snacks at the finish line in Crane Park. The walkathon will also be used to promote healthy lifestyles and talk about the importance of feeling fit and happy while giving back to our great school.
In the mean time, gather donations from businesses, find something to donate such as a craft, service, or item, and stay tuned for teacher basket themes. Hoopla is the PTO’s ONE BIG fundraiser helping to fund a year’s worth of activities, grants to teachers, and more.

By now the routines are getting in place, kids are bringing home items from classrooms, and the PTO is busy organizing events. Here is a summary of what’s coming up:

Picture Day will be September 20th. Packets will be sent home with picture information and costs. You may also order pictures online through Lifetouch.
